Lingular is a free Spanish vocabulary game that teaches you words through RPG combat. Instead of static flashcards, you translate words to deal damage to enemies, earn XP, level up, buy gear, and compete on leaderboards. No download required — it runs entirely in your browser.
Each encounter pits you against an enemy with HP. You see a Spanish word (or English word) and type the translation. A correct answer deals damage based on your stats and equipment. A wrong answer lets the enemy hit you back.
The world is split into 15 realms, from Verdant Vale to Apex Paragon. Each realm contains specific difficulty tiers (1–10) with unique enemies. Higher tiers have stronger monsters but give more XP and gold. New realms unlock as you level up.
You earn XP by defeating enemies. There are 99 levels, and each level requires progressively more XP. Leveling up unlocks new realms, higher-tier enemies, and better equipment. Your level and total XP are shown on the leaderboard.
You can equip items in four slots: weapon, armor, amulet, and ring. Equipment comes in six tiers — Bronze, Iron, Steel, Mithril, Adamant, and Rune — and provides bonuses to attack, strength, defense, gold, and XP. Get gear by buying from the shop with gold or as drops from combat.
Gold drops from every defeated enemy. Spend it in the shop on equipment or temporary boosts:
Your character has four attributes: Attack, Strength, Defense, and Hitpoints. You earn attribute points by purchasing items from the shop. Allocating points affects your max hit damage, damage reduction, and total HP. Equipment bonuses stack on top of your base attributes.
Every word you encounter is tracked. The Words tab in your profile shows each word with its accuracy percentage, attempt count, and mastery status. Words are classified as new, review, or mastered based on your performance. The game uses adaptive difficulty — it selects words based on your accuracy and adjusts challenge level automatically.
Compete with other players on the leaderboard. Rankings are available at three scopes (global, continent, country) and three time periods (all-time, weekly, monthly). Your rank is based on total XP earned. Weekly and monthly leaderboards reset so everyone gets a fresh start.
The Today tab in your profile tracks your stats across different time periods — daily, weekly, monthly, and all-time. See how many words you practiced, your accuracy rate, and XP earned. Use it to monitor your learning consistency.
You can start playing immediately as a guest — no sign-up required. Your progress is saved locally and synced to the server. When you register an account, your guest progress is migrated so nothing is lost. A registered account lets you access your progress from any device and claim your username on the leaderboard.
